Handling INXEL™

INXEL™ pigment preparations consist of uniformly shaped granules that can be incorporated into a solvent, a binder or a mixture of solvent and binder. In the conventional approach to manufacturing paints, the pigment powder must first be pre-dispersed and then milled. In addition to creating a significant dust problem, this process – depending on the pigment used – also requires long dispersion times and expensive milling equipment. In contrast to the traditional approach, INXEL™ pigment preparations significantly simplify the process: pigment preparations can be simply stirred into the system, e.g., with a high speed dissolver, effectively making complex, expensive equipment, such as pearl mills, a thing of the past. Savings not only occur on the equipment side, but using an INXEL™ pigment preparation also drastically reduces dispersion time. To sum up: INXEL™ pigment preparations open significant new cost saving opportunities to coating and printing ink manufacturers.

Beside theses savings, INXEL™ pigment preparations deliver added benefits: in contrast to powder-based products on the market, INXEL™ pigment preparations allow for absolutely dust-free handling. They are VOC-free and thus provide a decisive competitive advantage in terms of compliance with VOC guidelines and other health and environmental regulations. In addition, the granules are considerably easier to dose than powder. Special metering systems, as commonly required with pastes or low bulk density powders, are no longer necessary – all it takes is a simple scale system.
